Cargill launches large animal feed plant in South Korea

A large animal feed factory in Dangjin-gun, North Chungcheong Province, South Korea will be established by Cargill.

Cargill Agri Purina, a subsidiary of Cargill, broke ground for the new plant Friday (June 8). The company will invest a total of KRW100 billion (US$85.2 million) over the next two years to complete the plant by May 2014.

The new plant will produce 870,000 tonnes of animal feed annually, the largest amount among Cargill's global plants.

Cargill was established in 1865, and headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The US company accounts for over 40% of the world grain market. It is one of the world's top four processors along with ADM, BUNGE and LDC.
